For a family vacation, a beach day, or a weekend getaway, consider the beautiful shores of Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Ft. Morgan in Alabama, or Perdido Key in Florida, along the breathtaking Gulf Coasts of Alabama and Florida. Witness the Sea Oats bloom in early June, offering a spectacular display as they dance in the wind.
Fairhope offers a charming backdrop for outdoor photography, though it comes with its challenges. While oak trees and architecture provide daytime scenery, the best times for beach family photography are at sunrise or one hour before sunset, offering ideal lighting to capture the water’s beauty and the white sand without the harsh glare, ensuring satisfaction for both clients and photographers.
Our aim during beach sessions is to minimize or eliminate shadows. We look forward to this time; as the shadows fade, the golden hour begins. This is the perfect time for capturing exquisite Family Portraits, with the light at its most magnificent. This is how we create the distinguished Portraits we’re known for.
A photographer suggesting a time beyond the golden hour might not prioritize your interests. Choose your wardrobe colors carefully; black and dark hues photograph nicely but could be too hot. Beach formal typically includes khaki and white. Pastels and earth tones are also flattering for beach portraits. Prepare for beach elements: wind, sunshine, and occasional rain. Remember, sunset times can differ.
Camelot Photography, situated in South Alabama and led by Don Puckett, a seasoned professional with over four decades of experience, caters to clients in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Ft. Morgan, Fairhope, the Eastern Shore, the Florida Panhandle, and the Gulf Beaches.
After your beach portraits are captured, you will possess a bespoke art piece of your family to cherish for generations.

Capturing Your Special Moments One Memory at a Time
Once your photography session has been edited, your beach portraits will be available for viewing online. Many of our beach families are visitors from other places. You have the option to view and order your portraits while still in town, or you can comfortably view your family beach portraits from home on our website at https://www.camelotphotography.org/session-ordering/ “” Camelot Photography.org.
You have a 14-day window to choose your preferred poses and add them to a Favorites folder. After making your selections, you can compare the poses and examine the web images in detail. Please note that these images are for web viewing and are not in full resolution.
We collaborate with you to determine the necessary edits and retouching. Our Family Beach Print packages include basic retouching, tidying up any hair above the head, and removing unwanted people and objects from the background. Keep in mind that the beach will naturally have some wind-blown hair. Unlike a studio, the beach offers sand, wind, sun, and of course, beautiful sunsets. We refine your Family Portraits to ensure you look your best.
Camelot Photography specializes in full-service destination weddings and beach photography. Most of our photo sessions are conducted outdoors. You can choose to have your photography session as beach portraits or area portraits, whether it’s the Gulf Beaches or Mobile Bay. We capture a variety of subjects, including weddings, families, children, mothers, babies, and seniors.

The Gulf Coast boasts stunning environmental shooting locations, featuring fences, walls, flowers, and scenery that remain beautiful throughout the year. We provide gallery wraps, canvas wraps, as well as canvases and Fine Art Prints. Watercolors and oils can be applied to all our portraits. Once your photographs are captured, heavy oils can be added. You can then choose how you’d like your finished portraits to be presented.
Firstly, it’s crucial to thoroughly research your photographer. Many photographers may be new to the business, while others have years of experience and are exceptional in their craft. Opting for a photographer with extensive beach shooting experience can be advantageous. The advantage of selecting a seasoned professional photographer lies in their ability to handle unforeseen issues effectively, using their experience to avoid potential disasters and still deliver a high-quality portrait.

Our beaches are shared with sea turtles, who also cherish these shores. They lay hundreds of eggs, and it’s fascinating to monitor the nests until they hatch and the hatchlings journey to the Gulf’s open waters. Remarkably, they return years later to nest, perpetuating the cycle. Opportunities to track them or volunteer are available at alabamaseaturtles.com. With luck, you might witness a sea turtle nest hatching. A video of such an event is available for viewing online.
